Privacy & Terms
Effective September 1, 2026 · Last updated September 1, 2026
Before the Board is a free, independent civic project published by The Ladnar Group (“we,” “us”). It presents agendas and minutes that Savannah’s Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC) already publishes, in a form you can search and map.
This page combines our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use. It’s written in plain language on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email us at info@beforetheboard.net.
Part 1Privacy Policy
What this covers
This policy explains what we collect when you use the website at beforetheboard.net and, if you choose to use it, our optional email-alert service.
Information we collect
Information you give us. If you sign up for alerts, we collect the email address you provide and the alert preferences you set (for example, a street, ward, work type, or specific petition you want to follow). If you subscribe to a paid alert, payment is handled by a third-party payment processor; we receive confirmation of your subscription status but we do not collect or store your full payment-card number.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers may record basic technical information such as your browser type, device, general location, and the pages you view, for security and to keep the site running. Your browser also stores small preferences on your own device (such as your last-selected board and cached meeting dates) so the site loads the way you left it; this stays on your device and is not an account.
How we use your information
- To send the alerts you asked for, and to manage your subscription.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the site.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To meet legal or regulatory obligations.
How we share it
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the service — for example, our email-delivery provider and our payment processor — and only as needed for them to perform that work. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our users or the public.
Emails and unsubscribing
We send alert emails only to people who have signed up for them. Every alert email includes an unsubscribe link; using it stops future alert emails. You can also email info@beforetheboard.net to unsubscribe or to have your information removed.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your alert email address and preferences for as long as your alerts are active, and then only as long as reasonably needed for our records or to meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete your information at any time.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No website or method of transmission is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Children
Before the Board is meant for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.

Part 2Terms of Use
Agreeing to these terms
By using beforetheboard.net or our alert service, you agree to these Terms of Use and to the Privacy Policy above. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
What Before the Board is
Before the Board is an independent tool that takes the agendas and minutes the MPC publishes and presents the same information in a searchable, mapped form, with links back to the source documents. The core viewer is free. We also offer an optional email-alert feature (see below).
Not an official record, and not legal notice. Before the Board is a convenience service, not the definitive source. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the MPC, Chatham County, or any government agency. The information here may be incomplete, out of date, or contain errors, and figures change as the MPC revises records and posts minutes. Official notice of meetings and decisions comes from the MPC. Always confirm anything that matters against the MPC’s official record at thempc.org. Nothing on this site is legal advice.
The alert service and subscriptions
- Your first alert per board is free. Additional alerts require a paid subscription.
- Subscription fees are nominal charges that help keep the site operational. They are a charge for the convenience of delivery — not a charge for the underlying public records, which remain free to everyone.
- Paid subscriptions are billed through a third-party payment processor and, unless stated otherwise, renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future billing and takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: if you’re not satisfied, email us within 30 days of a charge and we’ll refund it in full. After 30 days, you can cancel anytime to stop future renewals; the current subscription period is non-refundable.
- We may change subscription pricing or features; we’ll give reasonable notice of material changes before they affect you.
- Alerts are a convenience and are not official notice. We check the MPC’s postings about once a day, so alerts are not instant, and we can’t guarantee that every matching item will be captured or delivered.
Acceptable use
Please use the service lawfully and reasonably. Don’t attempt to disrupt or overload it, resell or redistribute the service as your own, use it to harass others, or use automated means to extract data in a way that burdens the site or the MPC’s systems.
Intellectual property
The underlying agendas, minutes, and public records belong to their original sources. The design, original text, organization, and compiled presentation of this site, along with the “Before the Board” name and logo, belong to The Ladnar Group. You’re welcome to link to the site and to the public records it points to.
Links to other sites
The site links to third-party sites, including the MPC’s. We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their content or practices.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, or error-free. The site is under active development and may be offline or change at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Ladnar Group will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or reliance on — the service or the information it presents. Confirm anything that matters with the MPC.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Chatham County, Georgia.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
